International expansion represents a key driver of growth for any medium-sized and large company. MMA prides itself on being able to provide the most effective insurance and risk management solutions to support your company as it grows abroad.

Personalised guidance in over 150 countries

For more than 30 years, we have been supporting companies to expand their activities beyond their domestic market.

By drawing on our expertise and our network of partners who uphold our quality standards, we develop tailored insurance programmes that meet the needs of businesses, are transparent and comply with local regulations:

  • Integrated programme: this solution has been designed for companies where the parent company steers the risk management strategy. All local policies are reinsured by a master policy under French law. We set the conditions and coverage, determine the rate of premiums and reinsure the risk.

  • Coordinated programme: this programme has been developed for companies wishing to give their foreign subsidiaries the autonomy to negotiate their insurance policies locally. In this case, terms and conditions of local policies are set by our network partners, who retain 100% of the risk.

  • Centralised programme: this solution is intended for companies based in the European Economic Area. A contract governed by French law can be drawn up as part of the freedom to provide services, which includes standards regarding service quality and timescales.

  • Business lines and international programmes and companies’ freedom to provide services: solutions for property damage, general liability, E.A.R/C.A.R and cargo.

  • A servicing agreement that sets standards regarding service quality and timescales.

Quality service without borders

Financial solidarity within the Covéa Group: in early 2020, Standard & Poor's raised the financial strength rating of Covéa from ‘A+’ to ‘AA-’, acknowledging the quality of the Group’s business model.

Renowned expertise: we manage more than 856 multinational programmes and more than €127.7 million in premiums across over 150 countries and jurisdictions thanks to our experienced teams. We have built up our expertise by working on numerous projects entrusted to us by our customers, some of whom we have been working with since 1994.

Presence throughout the world: we have been a member of the International Network of Insurance (INI) since 1985, which enables you to access services from our partners and allows us to provide you with support in over 150 countries.

High quality standards all over the globe: our partners in the INI, all of which are leading insurance providers in their respective markets, offer you high-quality service in managing your policies and claims. As a Full Member of the Board of Directors of the INI, we actively participate in the partner selection process and scrupulously ensure their values meet our quality requirements. We apply the same quality standards and timescales, all over the globe. Never complacent, we subject our partners to a full audit each year to ensure we maintain the highest service quality standards.

Support every step of the way: our multidisciplinary underwriting and coordination team are by your side, in France, to design the programme structure, identify your needs as well as analyse the market context and specific considerations your company needs to take into account. The cross-functional nature of the information provides an optimised comprehensive understanding of the programme.

A separate service to manage international claims: claims that do not exceed €50,000 will be managed in a coordinated way together with the local partner and the global team. Claims that exceed €50,000 will be directly managed out of France by our team.
