Preventing occupational risk

MMA is committed to helping small businesses, companies and their employees by sharing best practices and limiting the risks they face in running their business.
Risk assessment visits as a preventive tool
Each year, MMA organises over a thousand risk assessment visits for its business customers. This has several aims:
- Explain the risks in person and assess the business’s vulnerability;
- Define the company’s risk exposure on the basis of the insurance cover offered;
- Offer solutions to limit risk exposure;
- Determine the right level of cover for the company;
- Help small businesses limit the risks they may be exposed to (fire, damage to the environment, theft, malicious acts, etc.).
1,200 risk assessment visits were carried out in 2022.
Risk assessment visits consist of four stages:
- Planning and preparation to carry out all necessary measures (collecting useful information, analysis of natural risk exposure, etc.);
- Introductory meeting to define and/or remind the company about the main points of the visit (presentation of MMA agents, aims of the visit, preventive procedures in place, etc.);
- Actual site visit to directly assess the level of risk in person;
- Closing meeting for initial feedback to the customer about the risks observed and priority measures to be taken.
At the end of the visit, the MMA expert prepares a number of documents for the business customer, including:
- A risk description report;
- A prevention plan;
- A score to assess the level of risk.
Business risk prevention materials
In addition, MMA writes white papers on specific risks, the potential consequences, means of prevention and insurance solutions offered by MMA. These look at a number of useful topics such as anticipating weather-related events, fire prevention and drawing up a business continuity plan.
All parties involved in prevention (business customers, intermediaries, service providers, etc.) can read guides to prevention best practices in the workplace, including in particular examples of claims and an expert’s opinion on how to manage these risks. These guides deal with a number of topics such as fire, gross negligence, returning to work after an epidemic, protecting unoccupied buildings and construction site safety when not in use.
Prevention experts by your side
MMA’s agents know your business and what you need, and are trained in preventing business risk. In addition to providing advice and helping you through the process, they can offer the support of a Prevention Officer, a business risk specialist who can suggest a prevention plan, particularly to anticipate fire, theft and damage risk.
Through Covéa Solutions Prévention, MMA also offers dedicated road safety solutions for businesses. These include access to the Prevention Solutions e-Box, a pack to prevent road risk at work (road safety information day, remote training, etc.). Customers can also benefit from road safety plans.
Finally, MMA offers help with creating business continuity plans and carrying out cybersecurity audits using specialist partners.
