Promoting road safety

For many years, MMA has taken measures to promote road safety. On a daily basis, we are committed to ensuring the safety of current and future motorists, both individuals and professionals. In 2022, we invested €821,900 in road safety(1).
“Zérotracas” zero-accident roads: our dedicated road safety platform
In 2000, MMA was the first insurer to create a website dedicated exclusively to road safety: La route Zérotracas MMA. The platform gives internet users access to a set of tools and content designed to encourage safe driving habits:
- Revision modules: the website allows users to revise road signs and provides free lessons on the French highway code, for the ASSR School Road Safety Certificate level 1 and 2, as well as for the learner motorcyclist permit.
- Dedicated apps: the platform offers mobile apps to prepare for the learner motorcyclist permit, ASSR level 1 and 2, as well as the MMA Covéa Coach ACC app to help with learning to drive. There were more than 56,446 downloads in 2022(1).
- Road traffic information: Zérotracas MMA provides real-time road traffic information for the whole of France. Drivers have access to a traffic index and details of weather conditions.
- News: thanks to numerous articles published, the website attracted 711,980 visits in 2022. The Twitter and Instagram accounts have 23,200 and 12,814 followers respectively(1)
Company road safety programmes
While road accidents account for more than 20% of fatal workplace accidents(2), this risk is too often underestimated by companies and managers. To counter this, MMA has launched around 40 dedicated road safety programmes for businesses with a car fleet. This commitment to road safety is reflected by a number of initiatives:
- The Zérotracas MMA Business website to prevent the risk of road accidents at work;
- Daily news, videos and prevention modules;
- A range of solutions via Covéa Solutions Prévention: road safety programmes and a range of on-site and e-learning training courses;
- Technical tests at the CESVI research and technology centre;
- Distribution of a white paper on road safety at work.

Targeted communications for each user
In 2022, MMA launched a number of targeted communications campaigns for different users, reminding them that road safety is a matter that concerns everyone:
- In May, during its “Road safety at work days”, MMA raised awareness among small business owners about road safety at work by means of:
- An opinion survey reported in the press about shortcomings (driving is the main cause of death at work) and what should be done to improve staff safety;
- A dedicated page on “turnkey solutions” on the Zérotracas MMA website;
- A digital and LinkedIn campaign.
- In July, MMA provided support for drivers taking to the roads during the summer holidays. An advertisement for the general public shown on BFM TV, RMC Découverte and Story, as well as on radio station RMC, encouraging people to be responsible and positive “for zero accident holiday roads”.
- In October, MMA launched a “Sharing the road” campaign targeted at vulnerable users (drivers, motorcyclists, scooter users, cyclists and pedestrians). On the basis of an opinion survey reported in the press and a film shown on MyTF1, 6play and social media, the aim is to demonstrate that all road users are “multimodal” and capable of sharing common spaces intelligently.
- In December, MMA launched a campaign for future drivers aged 18 to 24. The aim is to help them learn the highway code thanks to the Zérotracas platform and our apps. Two videos featuring three influencers taking a humorous look at parent/child discussions about the famous saying, “First learn the highway code!”, were posted on TikTok.
